Held high in many cultures throughout history, Ruby is a totem of passion, prosperity and protection. Symbolising the glow of the sun, the inextinguishable flame within the Ruby that legends say would shine through the toughest clothing and could never be hidden; if Ruby were cast into water it would cause it to boil, and if carved and pressed into wax, it would melt the wax.
Furthermore, worn as an amulet to ward off pestilence and plague it could warn the adorned person if danger, keep them safe and discard non useful thoughts and sadness, to bring peace and deplete frightful dreams, remove lust, and help to resolve dispute.

Promoting a clear mind, it increases concentration and motivation, sense of power, self-confidence and determination. It stirs blood and stimulates the heart, encouraging joy in the physical world by increasing desire, sexual energy, and may be used to activate the kundalini.
