Woven Birch on Birch Woven Wall Cluster

$398.00

Details

These beautiful Weeping Birch weavings are handwoven from natural materials: Weeping birch branches, birch branch base and naturally dyed Merino Wool

Perfect for hanging in your favourite space as a cluster as is or with a variety of natural wall art pieces of different textures, depths and sizes.

I wove this cluster on the Sunshine Coast  of BC, it came from a tree I had to prune, each branch carefully selected.

Preparation of the materials is always beautiful journey, it’s often slow paced allowing a lot of space to pour love and intention into each part and stitch.

This piece represents strength in numbers and resilience. I had other plans for these pieces around how they were going to look but I let them take form and shape naturally to see what needed to come through. Originally one large piece was planned but these ones turned into 3 similar sized pieces, different in depth, slightly different in width, stronger together.

Heart work, home adornment for conversion and love.

Currently available for purchase online, or by visiting them on display at Artifact Gallery Qathet, open 11-5 Tue to Sat, 4690 Marine Drive, Powell River.

The Process

This basket was made using the coiling technique dating back 10,000 years ago, leaving a strong sense of connection to ancestors, past lives, family and community and the self. With each stitch connecting to the next passing round and round, every time something new is woven it creates a new journey bringing amazing energy and growth. This particular basket when woven was used to create a meditative state to bring peace to the maker that carries over to the baskets owner.
